Today was day 1 of our QUILTATHON. I am so proud that we had 12 ladies crammed into our classroom to take advantage of this Free class and to make a quilt for the Foster Kids of the Sunshine Coast. Here are some pics.
The girls stitched and stitched using some of the donations thanks to Janey and an anonymous donor who left a bundle on our doorstep.
Then hey presto they started to complete blocks like magic!
Dylenka is new to patchwork. I think she is hooked!
Jan is new to patchwork but is an experienced dressmaker. She used some orphan blocks in the donations.
Jill is also new to patchwork and I think we have another addict here too!
Joanne right showed off the talents of her new embroidery machine for the centres.
Kim chose some great colours for boys as she has boys herself.
Pat overcame her asthma to get stitching. What a result!
Tory chose funky cats and then raced off to work.
What can I say we had lots of fun, lots of laughs and great comradery while doing something so worthwhile. if you would like to make a quilt and donate it to this cause we are happy to give you quick instruction over the counter. The girls come together again on the 25th to complete their quilts. Won't it be great to have at least 12 quilts to donate.
So proud thanks girls for embracing this cause! Patchworkers are certainly a special breed.!!
Keep on Stitching!
