Can you believe it is 4 years today since Lynette Anderson handed over the wings of the Patchwork Angel to us. 26th June 2006.
So to celebrate I took Team Angel to see Menopause the Musical. even though of course we are all too young to understand what it is all about. ( Well most of us anyway!)
Left to right are Lee, Fiona (aka Quilting Fairy), Beth, Penny and Jenny.
So I think a bottle of chamapgne needs to be opened. Don't you!
This week in the shop we have seen lots of lovely quilts. Here are just a few.
This lovely quilt has been lent to us by Sally Smith. It was started by her mother Agnes Gilligan who sadly passed away last year. Sally has made it her mission to finish the work her Mum started. Thanks to Sally and her Dad for lending us this quilt to hang in the shop .It is "Muddy Garden" by Lynette Anderson Designs. The original was in Muddy colours but this one in pastels looks lovely too!
Thursday morning is the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler group and here is one very clever lady Norma, who has finished piecing hers. She plans to hand quilt it. Just too clever for words don't you think. Norma has appliqued the broders in her own design which we think has made a beautiful addition to an already beautiful quilt.
Sylvia's Bridal sampler is the pattern for the Bridal Sampler for the character Sylvia in the Elm Creek novels by Jennifer Chiaverini. We have lots of the novels in store at the moment.
Thursday afternoon is UFO (Unfinished Object) class and here is another Norma with her version of My Cat's Garden. by Maggie Walker She complained that I shouldn't take a photo until she had the borders on but I thought you would enjoy seeing it. You might remember seeing Norma last October as well as Linda another of our UFO girls who just loves Maggie Walkers designs.
Friday morning is Pies and Tarts time. Clever Wendy has finished piecing hers which she bought as a BOM from us. It is all paper pieced and hand appliqued. We all ooohed and aaahed at seeing one finished. Still to be quilted of course and I think she is going to have Fiona (aka Quilting Fairy) do it for her.
If you love the look of Paper piecing we have Sue Daley from Patchwork with Busy Fingers coming for an evening on the 7th July at 7pm. Give us a call 07 5477 0700 if you would like more info or to book.
That's it from me for now. Hope you enjoy seeing all the lovely work the ladies who come into the shop do. Got to go and finish writing the Class list for semester 2 and must get around to doing a newsletter. Did you notice we have not had one for June. !!!!!
Keep on Stitching,
